Footpath Cottage is a Grade II listed building, dating from around 1850 and situated in the heart of the picturesque village of Edith Weston, on the south shore of Rutland Water.

The cottage was awarded 3 stars in 2009 with the assessor commenting “ a beautifully presented cottage, offering comfortable accommodation with high standards of cleanliness”

Constructed of local stone with an original Collyweston slate roof, the cottage comprises sitting room, bathroom and kitchen; two good sized bedrooms, one with twin beds and the other a double bed and an additional single bed if required for four individuals.

Modernised throughout it has all the facilities you would expect for modern living yet has retained its character with a wood beamed ceiling in the sitting room and inglenook fireplace housing a wood burning stove.

It has a fully fitted kitchen including dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and microwave oven. TV and DVD player along with radio/CD player are also provided. The bathroom has separate shower cubicle as well as bath with handheld shower attachment.

All linen is provided for guests, included in the price.

Separately there are drying facilities and a freezer for trout catches together with space for storing bicycles.

Locality

The village pub ‘The Wheatsheaf’ is 2 minutes walk away and our well stocked Village Shop and Post Office is only 3 minutes walk.

The Wheatsheaf serves a varied menu of good freshly cooked food at reasonable prices and has a selection of real ales and wines either by the glass or bottle.

The Fishing Lodge and Normanton Cycle Hire Centre are 5 minutes walk as is the Rutland Sailing Club.

Rutland Water Golf Club is 5 minute drive.
