Rutland Fly Fishing Guiding Service

Fly Fishing GuidingThe difficulty with fishing reservoirs is their size. The seasons, temperature, wind direction (and strength) can change the fishing from one week to the next and often from one day to the next. Frequently anglers visiting a reservoir for the first time or after a long gap find themselves at a loss to know what to do. Where are the fish, what depth are they feeding at, what are they feeding on, what speed should they retrieve, how should the fly be presented?

The wardens and tackle shop staff are always very helpful and will point you in the right direction, but they have limited time to talk with you and are obviously not out there with you fishing. The biggest problem is what to do next when you can't catch; do I stay put and try something else or should I motor 40 minutes to another spot? Is there a successful method for catching that you would not have even considered or that you are not even aware of?

For experienced fly fishers who want to be accompanied for the day so that you increase your chances of success, we have a team of Guides who can take you out on Rutland, Pitsford, Grafham and Eyebrook.

Disabled anglers who are in wheelchairs can fish from the specially designed Wheelyboat.

Each Guide can take out either one or two people.

All of our Guides are recognised experts who know their waters inside out and who have fished at the highest level, many of them Internationals.

While most clients wish to catch trout from a boat, we can also provide guides for bank fishing and, on Rutland Water and we also run a special Pike on the Fly guiding service.

Our Guides are all very friendly and their aim is to ensure that you have an enjoyable day to remember. They will share all their knowledge of the water and techniques and if they can't get you to catch fish, nobody can!
